Laurel Remington writes emotional women’s fiction and intelligent romance novels under the name Lauren Westwood. She has also published three middle grade novels, and in 2015 was the winner of the Times/Chicken House Children’s Fiction award. Originally from California, she now lives in Milford, Surrey, where she also works as a solicitor in renewable energy.

Laurel is currently working on her historical fiction debut, The Bone Child. Set in a 19th century Scottish whaling community and loosely inspired by The Odyssey, the novel subverts traditionally male elements of Classical epics to explore themes of transformation, motherhood, superstition, the natural world, and female agency.
