Marie-Claire is a barrister specialising in white collar crime. She studied English and French at the University of Nottingham before embarking on a legal career.

Marie-Claire was awarded the John C Laurence award by the Society of Authors in respect of her debut novel One for Sorrow Two for Joy, which was published by Oneworld Publications in August 2022.

She is a trustee of Black Cultural Archives, a national heritage charity dedicated to collecting, preserving and celebrating the histories of African and Caribbean people in Britain.

In her spare time, Marie-Claire enjoys long walks with her dog, cocktails with her friends and laughing with anyone who will indulge her.

Marie-Claire has lived in Guadeloupe and New York. She is born, raised and lives in South London.
