Abigail Dean’s THE DEATH OF US wins CWA Gold Dagger Award

THE DEATH OF US by Abigail Dean has won the prestigious CWA Gold Dagger Award 2026.

In what has been an incredible few months for Abigail, her third novel was shortlisted for both the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year 2026, and the Crime Writers Association’s top award, winning the latter.

The winner of the Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year will be revealed at the opening ceremony of the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival on Thursday 23 July 2026.

Meanwhile, her incredible new novel ABSENCE has been acquired by Hemlock Press in the UK, and Scribner in the US – set to publish in the summer of 2027.
