Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel to narrate new Elodie Harper novel
Game of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel is set to narrate the audiobook of Elodie Harper’s upcoming novel Boudicca’s Daughter (Head of Zeus). Emmanuel is best known for her roles as Missandei in Game of Thrones and Ramsey in the Fast and Furious franchise. She began her career playing Young Nala in the West End’s original production of The Lion King, before taking on leading roles in television series Die Hart, The Invitation and the Four Weddings and a Funeral mini-series remake. This will be her first audiobook performance.
The audiobook, hardback, trade paperback and e-book editions of Boudicca’s Daughter will be published simultaneously on 28th August 2025, with individual special editions of the hardback available through Waterstones, Independent Bookshops and Goldsboro Books.
The publisher described Boudicca’s Daughter as a "dazzling epic", set in the Roman world, about the daughter of one of Britain’s most powerful heroines. The synopsis continues: "Solina, daughter of the infamous warrior Boudicca and the Druid king of the British Iceni tribe, is destined to lead her people. As Roman rule grows ever more oppressive, and the goddess of war strikes, Solina is left to face the might of Rome alone. What follows is an epic journey for survival – one that will take her from Britain’s sacred marshlands to the glittering facades of Nero’s Imperial Court."
Harper said: "Whenever I was asked who I imagined as Amara in the Wolf Den trilogy it was always Nathalie Emmanuel, after her iconic performance as Missandei in Game of Thrones. I am beyond thrilled that such a phenomenal actress – who I admire so much – will now be bringing Solina’s story to life."
Emmanuel said: "I’ve loved reading Boudicca’s Daughter and immersing myself in this world of warrior women. A moving and epic saga of love, war, loss... and most of all defying all the odds."
Sophie Whitehead, editor, said: "True to form, Elodie has written a strong, visionary and unforgettable character in Solina – Boudicca’s Daughter – and I cannot wait to introduce her to readers. I can think of no better narrator for the audio edition of Boudicca’s Daughter than the superlative Nathalie Emmanuel, and I cannot wait for readers to be enchanted by the coming together of these two phenomenal artists."
