Harvill Secker scoops three new books from Susan Stokes-Chapman in a six-figure deal

Harvill Secker has scooped three new books by Pandora author Susan Stokes-Chapman.

Publishing director Liz Foley acquired UK and Commonwealth rights for The Twelve Days of Christmas for publication in autumn 2025, The Constellations for spring 2026 and The Moth Farm for spring 2028. She bought the rights from Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment in a "statement acquisition".

The Twelve Days of Christmas is described as a collection of short stories "inspired by the Georgian Christmas carol of the same name".

It will be followed by two Gothic novels, including The Constellations, an "immersive historical tale set in eighteenth-century Prague", and The Moth Farm, hailed a "suspenseful and captivating story of a 19th century female entomologist, falsely accused of murder".

For The Bookseller, Liz said: "I am overjoyed to have three new books from Susan to look forward to. She is an exceptional writer and I love stepping into the worlds she creates so brilliantly."

Susan added: "So many of my ideas have been simmering away in my mind for years, and I consider myself very lucky indeed to be able to continue to bring them to life with Harvill and Vintage."
