Sally El-Arifi designs recipes with her ethos of mindful nutrition, unexpected flavour profiles and the lessening of food waste in mind. Sally’s true passion has always been in the experimentation of ingredients and to understand the finer details in the science of baking. Through her culinary journey, Sally has achieved a BSc Hons in Food Science and Nutrition and has also worked at a number of high-end, artisan kitchens such as Konditor as a baker, and Rococo and Paul A. Young as a chocolatier. This blossomed her blog Baking with Sally where she inspires readers to use unique and exciting ingredients to make baking healthier.

Additionally, her recipes are often influenced by the cultural melting pot that she was surrounded by. Born in the UK, raised in the Middle East, but also ethnically linked to Ghana, Sudan and England, her approach to recipes always merge multiple cultures, creating a delectable fusion.

Her first book The Little Book of Bananas was published by HarperCollins in 2022.
