Anne McCarthy is a U.S.-based author and journalist whose writing has appeared in The Washington Post, the BBC, The Guardian, Wired, Teen Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Shondaland, and other notable outlets. She served as Variety's lead freelance reporter covering Saturday Night Live during its landmark 49th and 50th seasons, and regularly covers French cultural events, such as the Cannes Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week for France Media Group. Anne earned her Master's in Creative Writing from the University of Westminster in London, attended the Yale Writers' Workshop, and completed the Comedy Writing Program at Chicago's Second City. She also taught writing classes at the Irish Writers Centre in Dublin. Anne writes women's fiction and is currently writing a novel set in New York City that explores themes of friendship, ambition, and modern love.
