Audrey Burges
Audrey Burges is represented by Maria Whelan
Audrey Burges writes humor, novels, and nonfiction in Virginia. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, McSweeney's, Writer's Digest, and numerous other outlets. Her debut novel, The Minuscule Mansion of Myra Malone, was published in 2023 and subsequently translated into multiple languages. A House Like An Accordion, her second novel, was released in 2024.
Audrey grew up among desert canyons in Arizona. She moved to the Eastern coast of the United States as an adult, and her brain couldn't adjust to the concepts of "green" or "seasons." She now accepts both as real and not inventions by children's book illustrators. Much like publishing, it took a while.
When not writing, working, or pointing out a "really cool leaf she found" to her long-suffering family, she is usually making someone a snack.
