Evan was born near Newbury, England. After traveling the world at age twenty-five, he settled in the USA. He has worked as an English and Drama teacher in the U.S and the U.K for twenty-three years and currently teaches Seniors AP Literature at UIC Noble College Prep in Chicago.

He has degrees from Lancaster University, Warwick University, and a Master’s in Writing Fiction from Johns Hopkins.

Evan won second place in the Blue Mesa Review's Annual Fiction Contest with the short story In-Laws and Out-Laws. His short story 'Intact' also made the Honorable Mention list for Glimmer Train's New Writer Short Story Competition. His work has also appeared in New Millenium, Penn Hopkins, and Italian magazine

He has lived in London and Washington D.C, but currently resides in Chicago with his husband, Josh and their beagle, Albie.

Evan’s joyful debut novel Gummy combines a queer coming-of-age story with a twisty mystery.
