Marivi Soliven has authored 17 books including The Mango Bride, which won the grand prize at the 2011 Palance Awards, the Philippine counterpart of the Pulitzer Prize. Her essay, "Pandemic Bread” about interpreting end-of-life calls for Covid patients, was featured in the San Diego Decameron Project. The film adaption has screened at 11 film festivals across the United States, in Mexico and the UK and won Audience Favorite at the 2024 San Diego Filipino Film Festival. Her forthcoming novel, Taxi Dancer, will be published with Red Hen.
